Hugo is a specialist in liability- and insurance law. Based on this expertise, he conducts a broad litigation and advisory practice. Hugo has a lot of experience with commercial disputes, corporate law issues and directors’ liability. Hugo is also the initiator of the website Advocaat Verzekeringsrecht.

In 2001 Hugo started as a lawyer at the leading international office Allen & Overy. Between 2006 and 2013, Hugo was a judge in the District Court of Amsterdam. In 2013 he returned to the legal profession at the office Van Doorne. Hugo has been a partner at Pact advocaten since 2016. Besides being a lawyer, Hugo is a lecturer for the vocational training of the Dutch Bar Association and member of the editorial board of the journal Tijdschrift Aansprakelijkheids- en Verzekeringsrecht (TAV).

Through his experience on both sides of ‘the bench’, Hugo is able to get to the heart of any complicated case.
