Maarten Klaassen has been a lawyer since 2001. He is a real estate law expert with a speciality in zoning, enforcement, compensation and environmental permits. He completed a specialist course in Zoning and Environmental Law at Grotius Academy in 2013. The bulk of his practice lies in advising hotel and retail companies. He advises and assists businesses in project development and zoning procedures and facilitates a smooth path through these often complicated processes. Within civil law, he advises and litigates in tenancy law, property sale and purchase, collaboration in real estate and joint ventures in the hospitality industry.
A particular focus is the law relating to owners associations (in Dutch, vereniging van eigenaren, or VVE). Maarten is the instigator of the website vve-advocaat.nl, which addresses Dutch law issues in this field. As a prominent specialist, he often advises in complex matters related to owners associations and litigates matters throughout the Netherlands.
Maarten combines legal ingenuity with a practical approach. He is proactive and always keeps his client’s ambitions in mind. This enables them to focus on getting down to business rather than spending time on legal problems.
